Begum Bahar – also called Princess Flower, Glory Bush or Tibouchina – is an evergreen ornamental shrub or small tree prized for its luxurious, velvety foliage and large, royal-purple flowers. Native to Brazil, it thrives in warm, humid climates and adds a touch of tropical elegance to gardens, balconies, patios and public landscapes.
Height & Spread: Typically 1.5–3 m high in pots, up to 4 m when planted in ground; spreads wide if not pruned.
Leaves: Opposite, oval-lanceolate, dark green, slightly hairy with pronounced veins that give a velvety look.
